This completes the Cactus cross brand X-TTL system, now supporting Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Pentax, Olympus, Panasonic, Sigma, and Sony (with V6 IIs).
For existing V6 II & V6 IIs owners the updates are available free of charge, via user enabled firmware updates available from the Cactus website download page.
The Cactus V6 II, and V6 IIs transceivers provide control for 4 groups of remote flashes, with TTL, HSS, Remote Manual Power Control, Remote Zoom Control, and Rear Curtain Sync supported where applicable (not with Canon).
And a Flash Power Lock feature is also provided, for fast initial TTL metering, before switching to manual for refinement and consistency.
The unique Cactus V6II and V6 IIs transceivers also provide cross brand compatibility between the different supported camera systems and flash units.
A Sigma camera for example, will provide wireless TTL with Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic etc speedlightes. As well as flashes that run on the same camera system (Sigma in this example).
There are some limitations between systems though, for example Canon cameras will only support TTL with Canon and Cactus flashes.
For current full compatibility details please see the Cactus X-TTL microsite.
The Cactus V6 II and V6 IIs, and X-TTL system, are also directly compatible with Cactus’s own RF60 & RF60X speedlights.
As well as the coming compact cordless RQ250 flash, and larger compatible strobes already on the drawing board.
