GODOX X1T-F Transmitter – For FUJI Announced

GODOX X1T-F

Godox have announced the X1T-F / Flashpoint R2 transmitter for Fuji camera systems.

The X1T-F transmitter provides TTL, HSS, SCS (with compatible Fuji cameras), as well as a HSS timing adjustment.

And the X1T-F can trigger and control Godox’s complete range of 2.4HGz enabled flash units.

Legacy remote manual Godox strobes can also be fired and manually controlled via the X1T-F transmitter, when using XTR-16 receivers.

Will there be any combination of trigger/receiver that would allow me to use HSS on my older Godox Witstro AD-360 on aFuji X-T1? It has a HSS mode but it’s not 2.4ghz its 433mhz.

    • Mariosch 1 year ago

replace the receiver on the AD360 with an XTR-16.
I use the the XTR16 on my AD360 with a Canon X1. HSS works well, has still to be enabled manually on the flash, though.
Should work then with Fuji, according to the specs above…

      • nez 1 year ago

OK thanks. I’ll get one and give it a go.

        Hi Jamesy,

If you see the compatibility charts in the post, the X-T20 are listed as a Type A camera, which should be compatible and provide HSS.

The X-T10 are listed as Type B cameras, which are compatible but do not provide HSS with the X1T-F transmitter.

Will this trigger X1T-F work with AD360 II N (for Nikon) flash remotely, without any additional receiver on ad360? Thanks.

Nice! I hope this works perfectly with the GFX 50s.

Piet Van den Eynde has said the TT350f is working with the GFX, so I’d be cautiously optimistic.

The TT865F has just been announced http://www.godox.com/EN/Products_Camera_Flash_TT685F.html

Godox are rolling out Fuji support pretty quickly.

No sign of Sony, M4/3 or Fuji support for the XT32 which makes me to think that the upcoming X2 triggers will replace it leaving the X1 to support those who want to have a hot shoe on the trigger.

  9. Jamesy 1 year ago

Looking at the TT685F to replace some YN-685 units. I have been a happy YN user since the 301P days and tried using the YN685 with my 622C-Tx trigger and while an entire 622 Rx/Tx setup works on Fuji, if I try the YN685 with the 622-TX it locks up. I have been looking for one system that will work with my current Canon and Fuji setup, TTL and HSS and I think I have found it with Godox.

I have pre-ordered a X1T-F/TT350F for me and my son who shoots the occasional wedding.
I also just ordered a X1T-C/2xX1R-C/1xAD200. The X1R-C units are for my Canon 580EXii’s
I will play around with this setup and will then consider a pair of TT685F units to round out my setup.

Does Godox allow control of the X1T-F/C unit from the camera like YN did in the past?

    • John Wilson 1 year ago

      Just to check…

You do know that the TT350F will support HSS and TTL when paired with any X1T trigger don’t you?

So you can control and fire the TT350F from the X1T-C on you Canon camera.

    • Author
      Flash Havoc 1 year ago

      Hi Jamesy,

The XtT-C allow full control through the Canon cameras external flash control menu, similar to the YN-622C-TX.

I’m not that familiar with Fuji, though from what I have heard there does appear to be some camera menu control available, though possibly more limited than the Canon system. It may vary with specific camera models as well though.

  10. Ned 1 year ago

This is great news. Do you know if this trigger will allow an X-T2 to do HSS with TT600 units?

  11. John Wilson 1 year ago

Yes the TT600 will suport HSS with any X1T trigger

    • Andreas Brett 1 year ago

John, do you know that for sure? My X1T-F came today but I can’t get the TT600 to fire in HSS mode. The X1T-F sends the signal to the TT600 to set to HSS mode (the TT600 enables the HSS mode and shows the H icon in its display) but the TT600 does not fire. If I go below sync speed the TT600 fires perfectly. Not sure if I’m missing something here

      • Author
        Flash Havoc 1 year ago

        Hi Andreas,

The TT350F have not been able to provide HSS with the TT600 / V850II, or manual strobes (like V850 & AS360) using the XTR-16/s receivers, so this may possibly be the case with the X1T-F transmitter units as well.

Do you have any other Godox strobes working in HSS with your camera though? (as it could be a camera compatibility or firmware issue otherwise).

      • John Wilson 1 year ago

        Andreas,

I was relying on the statement on the TT600 datasheet on the Godox web site. My X1T-F hasn’t arrived yet so I can’t test it on my XT-1.

If there is a problem then it will need to be fixed by a X1T-F firmware update as the TT600 and V850II don’t have USB ports.

It isn’t working! No HSS on XT-1, X1T-F with Godox TT600!!!!

Anyone receive their X1T-F or Flashpoint R2 yet? Any comments ? Thx

  13. Jan 1 year ago

Does anybody know how to get the Godox X1T-F trigger with the Godox AD360 or Godox AR400 (with the XTR-16 receiver) working in HSS mode with the Fuji X-T2 or Fuji GFX50s. The camera syncs until 1/125s, but refuses to flash at higher speeds. Both flashes were set in HSS mode. Also both cameras had the latest firmware and flash mode was set to HSS. (Also both cameras work fine in HSS mode with the Nissin i40 flash.) Strangely the Godox only flashes in TTL mode on the camera, but not in manual mode.

    • Mike 1 year ago

Check the firmware just released, GFX50 works and seen reports AD360 now working

  14. fred 1 year ago

Sadly the transmitter doesn’t deliver for older flash despite using the XTR-16… in my case AD360…

      Thanks for the feedback fred.

This was the issue with the TT350F speedlite as master as well. And it also affects the TT600 and V850II speedlites as the slave flashes.

Hopefully Godox can update the transmitter and master flash firmware to fix this.

    • Mike 1 year ago

Latest firmware has fixed according to some reports

  15. foto123 1 year ago

It is very disappointing to hear that the Godox X1T-F does nor support HSS with the AD360’s and the XTR-16’s.

Shame on you Godox! The Sony and Canon Versions of the X1T seem to work flawlessly with the AD360’s in HSS Mode.

I hope that Godox will fix this issue with a Firmware upgrade. Until this comes out, I will send back my ordered X1T-F !!! And I would recommend this to other users, too, to put some pressure an Godox to fix the problem.

Just got my x1t-f today, upgraded the firmware in my xplor ttl 600bm, so with my x-t1 ttl and hss work great, but with my x-e2 ttl works up to sync speed but no hss after that. Now I have a nice monolight for my Canon and for my Fuji, just wish those darn transmiters were tiny instead of so big.

  18. nez 1 year ago

Hi, another person who can’t get HSS working on the X-T1 with the TT600 flash paired with the X1T-F. You select HSS in the flash and take a pic and it is banded and the HSS light disappears from the flash. This is the only reason I bought the X1T-F. Am I doing something wrong?!

  19. AndyP 1 year ago

+1. I’m really disappointed that I can’t get HSS on my 3 x TT600s. Reading the spec I was lead to believe I’d be able to get it with the X1T-F.
I hope they will sort this.

    • nez 1 year ago

Hi, yes exactly the same for me. I already had the ability to trigger all my godox flashes so I bought the X1T-F specifically to use HSS. Unfortunately there is no USB on the TT600 so you cant update the flash so it will hopefully be a trigger issue…

  20. fred 1 year ago

Well, looking at all the videos on Youtube with people enjoying HSS with their X1 trigger with all Godox flash line including AD3600, TT800 and AD600BM, but it seems that the X1T-F (coupled with the XTR-16) is only half the product than its counterpart C, N and O : the X1T-F doesn’t give HSS for all the non TTL and usb wireless featured flashes, among which the AD360 Mrk1, TT800… which is even less acceptable that Godox doesn’t seem to communicate on the problem apart from elusive mail sent to few disappointed customers (I am not even one of those lucky ones since not getting any answer to my mails) mentioning that they “might consider addressing the problem with future firmware update”… in other words, too bad the product doesn’t deliver on what it is marketed for and what you bought it for…

    • Michael 1 year ago

      @ fred

The only thing we can do about the lack of HSS with the AD360 is to put pressure on Godox to solve the problem quickly with a firmware update. The customers do have a certain power to the market.

Everyone who has this problem should send them an e-Mail (servicesupport@godox.com) to address the problem and return the X1T-F trigger to the seller. Because without HSS we can all use the much cheaper XT-16 Triggers that also work with the AD200 and AD600.

SHAME ON YOU GODOX. I am not a “fanboy” anymore !!!

    • AndyP 1 year ago

Totally agree Fred, I feel like they might have released this product before it was ready due to the demand. I waited for this product for months because I knew I wouldn’t get HSS with the X1T-F or C in legacy mode.
Can’t help feeling I’ve been conned. I’ve emailed them, I suggest everyone else does to apply a bit of pressure.
I just don’t understand why HSS is not supported on non TTL flashes if they have HSS such as my TT600’s

      Hi Jan,

I also sent Godox an email about the HSS problem. They answered almost with the exact same wording:

Thanks for your enquiry and your supports to godox products.
Sorry for causing you this trouble.
X1T-F doesn’t work with old AD-360 at present.
The X1T-F need to update firmware.

Thanks for the update Jan, I hope they fix this for the non TTL flashes such as TT600

  22. jef 1 year ago

With the X1T-F, Fuji X-T2, and the TT600, I can’t get them to fire in HSS or TTL. So Godox saying “works with X-system” flashes is not true—at least not at this time.

    • jef 1 year ago

A follow-up to my previous comment: My TT600 will only fire at camera sync speed (ie. 250 or below). The AD600BM won’t fire at all now with either the Fuji or Nikon version of the X1—I have both. The power will update wirelessly, but the flash won’t fire either from the camera or from the test button.

      • foto123 1 year ago

What is the firmware version of your AD600BM?

        • jef 1 year ago

          Hi foto123.
Firmware version is 1.7. Pergear (the seller; Godox has not replied) said to try and update the FW again. I’ve done that but it didn’t help. It’s possible the bulb is dead and it’s just bad coincidence—though I’ve not used the AD600DM very many times.

          • foto123 1 year ago

            Hi jef,
you can test your flash by just pressing the test button on the AD600BM, but I think you already know that. If the unit is not flashing it could be the bulb or the electronics of the flash.
            Good luck.

            • jef 1 year ago

Thanks. Yes it won’t fire off the camera or from the test button.

  23. mike 1 year ago

I have been lent by Fuji UK a GFX50 and an XT-2 so that I could test with the X1T-F, before going further I should mention that the GFX50 is not listed as a compatible camera.

First issue I am all Nikon so a quick familiarisation required, nice thing is that menus are virtually the same.

At flash sync i.e. 1/125 the GFX50 works fine, but above that it is not receiving the HSS pulse

The XT-2 just worked throughout the shutter speed range, absolutely no banding at 1/8000

New firmware for this trigger has just been released http://www.godox.com/EN/Download.html

1.To add the support of FUJIFILM GFX 50s camera.
2.To add C.Fn custom settings. The transmitter’s parameters that set by Godox APP are not changed. And the transmitter is only for triggering.
3.To add the support of X100F、X100T cameras.Reach to 1/1250s high-speed sync in shutter (all unclosed groups must be set to M mode)
4.To solve the problem that when the TT600 and V850II are set as receivers, flashes cannot be triggered in high-speed mode(all unclosed groups must be set to M mode)

I’ve just tried HSS with X1T-F V03, my X-T2 and a V850 plus XTR16S. No flash beyond 1/250sec. My AD200 works perfectly all the way up to 1/8000sec. 🙁

    • Paul Ellis 1 year ago

      Fujirumors reports:

‘There is a new function setting (f11) that enables support for the non-TTL strobes. It has to be set at 02. All groups must be set to manual mode. If you set one to TTL, the non-TTL strobes won’t fire at anything above sync speed.’

It’s correct. Having set my X1T-F in this way my X-T2 triggers my V850 plus XTR16S all the way up to 1/8000sec.

  28. nez 1 year ago

I have been quite patient with this trigger and waited for the update. i still can’t trigger my TT600s with the X1T-F from my X-T1 even after the update and setting FN 11 to 02. it flashed up to max sync speed and thats it. Looks like I’ll be sending it back to godox…

  29. nez 1 year ago

I would just like to add an update to this thread. I have updated the trigger to the newest firmware and it still wasn’t flashing above maximum sync. If I set my shutter to ES/MS than HSS works as it should do!

    • foto123 1 year ago

      Hi nez,

did you swith EVERY group (X1T-F) to manual mode (M)? HSS is not working if not ALL groups are set to manual. That was the fact with my AD360’s. Maybe it helps with your TT600’s.

      Good luck.

If a Metz M400 flash for Fuji is mounted on X1T-F and X1T-F is set in slave mode, can the Metz M400 be used off camera and controlled by godox’s 2.4 GHz system? If so, will HSS or TTl work?

    • John Wilson 1 year ago

I don’t think the X1T-F can be set to slave mode. Even if it could be the hotshoe only has a centre pin so it could not support HSS or TTL. You’d need an X1R-F but it seems very unlikely that Godox will ever produce one. The market is too small.

You best bet is to trigger it from another flash unit using servo mode.

    • Author
      Flash Havoc 1 year ago

      Hi Patrese,

You would need an X1R-C receiver unit for the 580EXII.

That should trigger the speedliter from the X1T-F transmitter, and likely provide remote manual power control as well. TTL is very unlikely though, and I’m not too sure about HSS at this stage either.

  32. Fritz 11 months ago

Firmware update for the X1F: version V04
1.To solve the problem that AD600M&AD600BM cannot be correctly triggered when all groups are set to M mode.
2.In Multi mode, press the camera shutter to determine the flash times.

Not quite what I’m experiencing but may solve the problem.

The timing is great — in the studio yesterday, with a Fuji XPro2 an a Explor 600BM (non TTL) and Flashpoint 200’s what I observed is that if 1 of the 200’s was on TTL and the 600 on a separate group at manual, the 600 would not fire with the shutter press (but did with the TEST button). However, if I turned on SLAVE on the 600, it would fire (both in S1 and S2)

If I took the 600 off and had one 200 at TTL and the other 200 at manual, both worked as expected.

I also have a X1C but didn’t have it or my Canon gear at the studio to test if this was the same result — or if it was the 600 and the Fuji system.

I’ll test the Canon gear — then do the new Firmware update on the X1F and report back in a day or so.

  33. Fritz 11 months ago

I was in the studio today and was able to test both the Canon X1C on Canon and the Flashpoint R2 Zoom mini flash for Fuji as a transmitter. Both were able to fire the 600BM in manual with another group on TTL. The Mini zoom flash was also able to be active on TLL or Off and still trigger other groups as expected.

I dont have a Windows PC until the weekend to do the firmware upgrade on the X1F but it appears to be a controller issue hopefully resolved by the new firmware.

    • Fritz 11 months ago

    Hello,

I recently changed my system from Nikon to Fuji. I would like to let me know if the X1T-F transmitter for Fuji could be compatible with X1N-R receiver for Nikon. For flash I use the Nikon SB-900, in that case TTL & HSS function will be working properly?

    Thanks in advance

    • Author
      FLASH HAVOC 3 months ago

      Hi Giannis,

At this stage its generally only remote manual power control that will work with cross platform X1-R receivers.

You are generally better off putting the money towards a TT658N speedlite instead of the receiver, as they have full compatibility with the X1T-F transmitter.

Or you could get whichever version TT685 you prefer (Fuji, Canon, Sony etc).

  35. Steadyllic 3 months ago

I’m on an X1T transmitter for Fuji with a X-T1 camera (deemed fully compatible) and various receivers for Nikon. My firmware version is the latest 05. This transmitter is severely limited:

-No way to fire a legacy Wilstro AD360 paired with a WTR16 with the E group set to manual. Communication is alright for setting the FEC values, but it won’t fire the flash in HSS, even though it works alright with shutter speed below 180 of a second. It’s exactly the same bug that affects the XPro1 Nikon transmitter (but not the good old X1T N). I know there is a way around the issue (putting in the menu n°11 to 02), but it’s not practical for me, as I use TTL on my other flashes as often as possible and this works only if you put all groups in manual.

-No FEC compensation is possible with my Ving 860 and my two Nikon SB900 in TTL mode. I works OK for my AD600, my AD200 and the Ving 860II, for the latter only if you adjoin a Nikon receiver (which is theoretically unnecessary).
Come on Godox, send us some nice firmware updates!

  36. VJ 4 weeks ago

just bought the X1T-F and paired this with Xplor 600 BM and I was able to use HSS for my Fuji. I can use it for my Nikons but only up to 1/250, even though I have the HSS setting in camera on. Is there a work around to obtain HSS with the X1T F for my Nikons?

    • John Wilson 4 weeks ago

You need to buy an X1T-N

      • Author
        FLASH HAVOC 4 weeks ago

I’m personally not sure if the X1T-N will actually provide HSS if using a Fuji transmitter at this stage (it could be possible).

The best option with the Godox system at this stage is generally to go with the TT685 speedlites rather than X1R receivers, because the flash doesn’t cost that much more than a receiver unit, and provides full TTL and HSS compatibility etc across camera systems.

The X1R receivers will provide remote manual power control across systems, but anything above that (HSS & TTL etc) is just a bonus if working at this stage.

      • John Wilson 4 weeks ago

Ah! I misunderstood. I thought “my Nikons’ referred to cameras not speedlights!
