NICEFOTO TX-C02 / TX-N02 – TTL Transmitters Released

NiceFoto have released new TX-C02, and TX-N02 TTL and HSS enabled transmitter units for Canon and Nikon Camera systems.

The TX-C02 / TX-N02 now provide long awaited simple group control for up to 3 individual groups of lights, and will be the center of a full range of new NiceFoto TTL.M series cordless, and AC powered, studio lights.

Uniquely the TX-C02 / TX-N02 not only provide individual group buttons, but also separate buttons to adjust the output of each group.

  • NiceFoto TTL.M 2.4GHz Radio System
  • Range – Approx. 100m
  • Flash Modes – TTL / M / MULTI / FP
  • HSS to 1/8000th
  • Second Curtain Sync (Nikon Only)
  • FEC – 1/3rd Increments (±3 Stops)
  • FEL (Set on Camera)
  • Manual Flash – 1/128 – 1/1 Output (1/3rd Increments)
  • 3 Groups – A / B / C /
  • 15 Channels
  • 99 ID’s
  • Large Dot Matrix LCD Display
  • AF Assist Light
  • Modeling Light Control
  • FP Flash Mode
  • Auto Memory Function
  • Power – 2 x AA Batteries
  • USB port for Firmware Upgrades

The NiceFoto TX-C02 / TX-N02 provide an AF assist light, and are powered by 2 AA batteries.

The Nikon version TX-N02 provide a Group style interface, where TTL and Remote Manual Groups can be mixed together, and Groups can easily be switched on and off as required.

Modelling light control is also provided, as well as AF assist light ON / OFF control.

At this stage the Canon version TX-C02 appear to only provide the Ratio style interface in TTL mode.

Which can be more limiting without the ability to mix in Remote Manual Groups, or switch Groups ON and OFF easily.

Manual mode should still provide a Group style interface though. And there is even an FP mode which displays flash durations.

The TX-C02 / TX-N02 will be the center of a full range of new NiceFoto TTL.M series cordless, and AC powered, studio lights.

Starting with the already release n6 TTL.M, and coming K6 & K8 TTL.M combination strobes.

And Nicefoto have indicated there will also be separate receiver units coming to accommodate existing Canon and Nikon TTL speedlites.

Unfortunately the new transmitters are not compatible with the previous NiceFoto TTL-680C and RQ-800C TTL strobes.

The NiceFoto TX-C02 / TX-N02 transmitters should be available shortly.

Price has not yet been specified, though early indications are likely under $100.

The interface on this looks way better than Godox’s interface. Is there anyway these could be modified to work with their ecosystem? Does anyone have experience using non-Godox transmitters (that hopefully have better interfaces) with Godox flashes?

      Hi Peter,

You can’t use any other transmitter to control the Godox radio system and flashes. Only to fire them at most (with a corresponding receiver attached to the flash).

Godox and Flashpoint are working on new transmitters for the Godox system at the moment though.

They are coming along really nicely so far, though realistically I would guess they may be 6 months away. Time goes by pretty fast though, so it shouldn’t be too long.

Hi! Thank you so much for your reply! I’m looking forward to a new transmitter from Godox. The X1 and the X32 are just so clunky.

I would LOVE to see a interface like the old Radiopoppers that are adjusted via rotatable knobs. The knobs allowed precise adjustment without even looking at the transmitter.

It makes me want to try to hack a solution like this together!!
