YongNuo – Something New is Coming

If news of the coming YN-622TX transmitter, YN-560TX transmitter, and RF-603 II triggers, all expected over then next few months, wasn’t enough. A reliable source has informed me that the “flagship trigger product” which YongNuo had been referring to (and expected this month) is not actually the YN-622TX, as I thought they were referring to.

So there is actually ANOTHER significant trigger product coming as well !

We honestly have absolutely no information on what this new product will be at this stage. But somehow I think this is really going to be the most significant development yet.

I’ll leave you to speculate on what this product may be. I think I could actually take a pretty safe guess at this stage, but I don’t want to start a rumor when there is a possibility it could still be completely off the mark.

EDIT – Phottix’s recent TTL Radio enabled flash announcement is further confirmation of speculation this is leading to a similar radio based TTL flash product.

One thing is for sure, YongNuo have been very busy! And we are going to start seeing a lot of the fruits of that hard work over the coming few months.

There is even some hint changes may be possible yet with the YN-622TX, so some of our comments may not have been in vain either.

Exciting times coming !

Great news! But at the moment I’d be satisfied with an ETA for the 622TX and 560TX.

      Hi Armin,

This “flagship trigger product” will very likely be coming first. Its been in development for quite a while now.

That is after the RF-603 II, which is running a little late now it seems.

Perhaps this new flagship combines the two systems? Then I don’t care about 622TX and 560TX…

          I don’t think that’s it.

I thought you guys would be on to what this is likely referring to pretty easily. I might have to give a hint yet 🙂

I bought 6 of YongNuo’s 560 III flashes and all have failed in 3 weeks. Returned them and got them replaced. Those lasted a month. Never ever touch YongNuo again.

So what ever they have coming is just something that going to fail. So why bother.

      Hi Alberto,

YongNuo still have some bad batches and quality control issues at times, but the vast majority are quite good. I have 6 YongNuo flashes at the moment with no issues, a few over a year old now.

As always be careful to check the sellers return options, Amazon makes the process quick and simple if they are accessible.

I’m not saying they are for everyone, but a lot of people do appreciate what YongNuo have to offer.

Hmm. I bought several 560iiis for lighting interiors, freezing motion and such several months back. I took a them with me to a banquet hall event and accidentally dropped one onto the floor from six feet height. The eneloops went flying about, which the guests proceeded to helpfully retrieve for me from all directions, but the flash seemed fine after I put the batteries back in. When I came home, I took the flashes out of my gear bag to inspect the damage, but I could not figure out which one was the one that I dropped. I turned up the light to take a close look and still nothing. The plastic seems pretty nice on these too. Now the floor was not concrete, but it seemed pretty solid commercial finish on seriously hard wood floor. And the thing fell straight down with nothing to cushion the fall. It’s been well over four months since I dropped it, and I have been waiting for the dropped one to fail. I kind of accepted it would, but now I am slowly getting a feeling I may never find out which one it was. When I see comments like alberto’s I cannot help but to doubt the odds.

    i’ll take a guess. I think they’re gonna make…..

    a flashgun…….

with HSS AND External power socket….

and built in radio TX/Rx like the Canon 600RT !

    Do I win a prize?

I still hope they make a big flash like the Godox 360 but with TTL…..

    • MRomine 5 years ago

That would be awesome especially if they worked with Nikon.

      ” Do I win a prize? ”

We have to wait and see 🙂

And this flash in two versions: “normal” and bare bulb. At least that will stay a dream…

A Godox/Cheetah 360 equivalent with HSS AND Nikon i-TTL would be a big winner for me. Especially if it worked with the upcoming YN-622TX!!

I second a request for AD/CL 360 with TTL. Or at least a shared Radio system that allows the receiver to be implemented into an Odin type system for simple power adjustment on the master controller with other TTL guns. A $200 TTL flash with 600RT power and HSS/External Power would sell bundles too undercutting the Phottix Mitros.

I just don’t want to wait for an Odin type system that has limited features at launch that slowly unlock over the course of a year…ala 1 stop changes vs 1/3 stop, rear curtain, HSS timing adjustments, FEB, and so forth. Please get it close from day one so that I don’t have to dance between PW, Odin and Yongnuo any longer.

I wish to have some news quickly, i just sold my “olds” RF603 and YN560II flashes tonight… i wonder if i should wait or just order the 622 triggers and a 568EX flash.

  6. Kam 5 years ago

    590EX — same as 568EX +
    YN-622 RF control +
    External power socket

    Selling for $150,00

Then I will sell all my Canon flashes for sure !

What gives? Did they just abandon this all together? It’s been a good while now.

      Hi David,

No, this was the Canon RT compatible YN-E3-RT transmitter and YN-600EX-RT flash.

The YN-E3-RT is now available, and the flash is still yet to come. Thanks.
